Oven Temp Average Calculator
Ovens average temperatures to maintain heat. When the customer sets the oven to bake at 350°F, the oven does not stay directly at 350°F. It cycles above and below to maintain an average temperature. This is true of gas and electric ovens.
To use this calculator, click the Add Cycle button, then add your:
- Select Fahrenheit or Celsius, and input the Set Temp (what you set the unit to).
- Cut Off Temp (which is the high temperature before heat cuts off), and the
- Cut On Temp (which is the low temp before the heat cuts back on).
- Add as many cycles as you want, then click Calculate. You will then see a table with all the metrics that you can screenshot and add to your service ticket for future reference.
General rules to follow when checking for average temperatures:
- Allow the unit to fully preheat before starting your temperature measurements.
- Place your thermocouple as close to the center of the cavity as possible.
- Do not open the door throughout the cycle.
- Monitor for any excessive heat escape around the door.
- Check the temperatures over the course of at least 4 cycles.
