About Course

Stop Being a “Parts Changer.” Become a Diagnostician.

In today’s high-tech market, swapping parts until the machine works is a fast way to lose money.

The ATA Certified Professional curriculum is designed to teach you the Manufacturer-Level engineering logic behind modern appliances.

You won’t just learn “how to fix a dryer.” You will learn universal troubleshooting concepts that allow you to walk up to any brand—Samsung, Whirlpool, LG, or GE—and diagnose the failure FAST using a multimeter and a schematic.

Monthly Plan: A Structured Learning Path

The monthly membership gives you access to the same core ATA Certified Professional curriculum, but unlike the paid-in-full program, the entire course is not unlocked immediately.

Instead, training is released progressively based on the amount of time you have been enrolled. This structured approach helps prevent information overload and gives you time to learn, practice, and absorb each group of concepts before moving into the next stage of the program.

Rather than racing through dozens of lessons, the monthly plan encourages you to slow down and focus on developing the diagnostic thought process that the program is designed to teach.

Your Monthly Training Timeline

Your training schedule begins on the day you enroll. New sections of the curriculum become available automatically as you progress through your membership.

Available Immediately — Day 0

  • Introduction
  • Basic Electricity
  • Dryers
After 30 Days

  • Computer Controlled Appliances
  • Washing Machines
After 60 Days

  • Refrigeration
After 90 Days

  • Ovens, Ranges & Stoves
After 120 Days

  • Dishwashers
After 150 Days

  • Microwaves
  • Final Overview

Please note: The timeline above is based on the number of days since your individual enrollment date, not calendar months.

Monthly vs. Paid in Full

Paid in Full: The fastest and most flexible way to complete the program. Paid-in-full students receive immediate access to the complete curriculum and can move through the training as quickly—or as slowly—as they choose.

Monthly Membership: A lower upfront cost with a guided training schedule. New sections unlock progressively through Day 150, helping you focus on one stage of the curriculum at a time.

Monthly membership provides access to the training while your subscription remains active. The monthly option is a continuing subscription and is not an installment plan toward ownership of the paid-in-full program.

Student Support

Monthly members continue to receive access to program support and training resources. One-on-one training or support sessions may also be available; however, scheduling for monthly members is subject to availability and may be more limited than with paid-in-full enrollment.

Technical Skills You Will Master:

Advanced Electrical Theory

  • Schematic Reading: Trace complex circuits and “Open Neutrals” with confidence.
  • Voltage Drop Testing: Find high-resistance failures that trick other techs.
  • Multimeter Mastery: Learn to trust your meter over your gut.
Refrigeration Diagnostics

  • System Verification: Learn to confirm a sealed system failure (leak or restriction) vs. a fan or control issue.
  • Compressor Testing: Diagnosing windings, start relays, and modern inverters.
  • Frost Pattern Analysis: Reading evaporator patterns to identify specific failures.
Laundry Technology

  • Washers: VMW (Vertical Modular Washers), Shifters, and Lid Locks.
  • Dryers: Gas valve coils, centrifugal switches, and airflow dynamics.
  • Error Codes: How to interpret and verify board codes.
Cooking & Cleaning

  • Ovens/Ranges: Gas ignition systems, DLB relays, and sensor circuits.
  • Microwaves: High-voltage capacitors, diodes, and magnetrons.
  • Dishwashers: Circulation pumps, diverters, and turbidity sensors.

“This course covers the gap between textbook theory and the real world. We strip away the fluff and focus on the Diagnostic Logic required to be profitable in the field.”

Basic Electricity
In this module, we’re going to breeze through the basics of what you’ll need to know about electricity for this field. As the courses progress, we’ll deepen that understanding as it applies to each appliance in particular. The goal of this structure is to avoid inundating you with information you’ll likely overlook until reminded.

Dryers
In this module, we explore both gas and electric dryers. We also expand on what you learned about electricity, and we really drive home the point of understanding how voltage potential is a key diagnostic tool to making quick and effective checks.

Computer Controlled Appliances
In this module, we'll explore computer-controlled appliances and delve into how logical processes are used in diagnostic work. Please note that this module is still under development, so some sections may not be as fully built out as intended.

Washing Machines
In this lesson, we dive into top load and front load washing machines. We explore components, operations and testing methods.

Refrigeration
In this lesson, we're going to explore refrigeration theory of operations, components, and diagnostic processes.

Ovens, Ranges & Stoves
In this module, we'll explore Ovens, Ranges & Stoves, building on what you've learned in previous modules.

Dishwashers
In this lesson, we're going to learn about dishwashers and their basic functionality.

Microwaves
In this module, we dive into microwaves and testing.

Final Overview
